The dealul zeiței ('hill of the goddess' in Balok) is a location in the domain of Madego, located in the verdant fields of that domain's G'Henna province.
History
The dealul zeiței is a human-sized hill, shaped like a reclining woman, located at the center of an angel-shaped depression in the landscape, both covered in grass and flowering shrubs. In 740 BC, Lupta lay down on the land on this very location at the conclusion of the Night of Music, and created the angelic outline by fanning her arms and legs before she fell asleep. The tide of greenery that was sweeping over G'Henna province at the time covered Lupta as well, leaving the site as it currently is.
Current Sketch
Followers of Lupta consider the dealul zeiței to be holy ground - even the most sacred place in the world as far as they know it - and may make pilgrimages here to dance, feast and hold ceremonies in her honour. This is equally true for those who believe Lupta is a spirit as those who believe she is a goddess, as well as for those who believe she is Zhakata the Provider or the fifth manifestation of Ezra. Surprisingly, these liturgical disagreements have not yet led to violence between the various sects of the Church of Lupta.
The area is considered holy ground not only by the local Chi-Folken, but also the Pierrobit and many Ewigkinder. As such, the dealul zeiței is held as 'common ground', where any creature that tries to molest the faithful is likely to find itself under assault from multiple factions.
There are no permanent structures near the dealul zeiței to date, out of respect for the earth and plants that were directly blessed by Lupta herself. Instead, the various religious groups whose followers worship the goddess have set up tent camps at an hour's distance from dealul zeiței itself. Here pilgrims may rest, recuperate and restock before travelling towards the sacred hill or starting their journey home. Clerics, Druids, Adepts and Voodan who choose to permanently reside here can be relied upon to tend the area and provide various services.
