Coup Padre powder

Crushed and properly treated (requiring a DC 20 Profession (herbalist) check), the powder of a mature Coup Padre plant can induce a long lasting (2-8 week) form of paralysis resembling death (DC 23 Fortitude negates). No food, water, or air is required during this time, but people so paralyzed are often mistaken for deceased and buried alive. After the time runs out, a buried person will quickly wake up only to suffocate to death. If a person wishes to animate the dead bodies of such people is done with increased efficacy, though corporeal undead must ingest a small amount of salt daily.
