Liberty is not a gift to the oppressed from their former oppressor who have seen the light. Rather the oppressed typically take liberty along with the life of that oppressor and quite often the lives of his or her family and close associates too. Liberation then is a revolution. And with the exception of the bloodless revolution that put an end to slavery in Souragne, revolutions don't seem to be in taraka deck of even the most far-sighted of Vistana. The darklords are well entrenched and usually the existing political regime in a given land is an extention of that entrenchment. Still, one could imagine in Dementlieu a liberator arising to lead the liberated masses on their way from the revolution of liberty to the permenant revolution of terror. Of course an end would have to be put to Dominic D'Honaire and his rival the Living Brain before this experiment in popular sovereignty could begin in earnest.
