L’Académie des Sciences is not a university but rather a secret society of scholary practitioners of magic who wish to hoard knowledge, secrets, and magic. The main headquarters is in Dementlieu (Port-a-Lucine), with chapters in Borca, Richemulot, and and Mordent. These chapters function as clubs running separately from (and sometimes at cross purposes with) each other.[1]
The Triad is in charge of the main Dementlieuse branch (and ultimately the others). The Triad's members are the following[2]:
The following characters are of the outlying branches of L’Académie[3]:
- Damien Zarduct operates the branch of L’Académie in Borca.
- Jessica Foxgrove operates the branch of L’Académie in Mordent.
- Maurice Desoux operates the branch of L’Académie in Richemulot.
Given their near obsessive fervor for hoarding magic items, the group often comes into conflict with the Order of the Ebon Gargoyle[4] and 
given this, the Order of the Guardians. Given their overlapping territory in both space and modus operandi, it would not be surprising for them to be rivals of the Fraternity of Shadows.
