The study in the Land of Mists of electromagnetism is haphazard and rudimentry at absolute best. Dr. Victor Mordenheim understands bioelectricity better than any one else and has applied that understanding to the invention of items useful to his research into the creation of life. His invention of the lightning box makes him the leading electromagnetist in the known world, but only by default as he has no interest in the discipline in itself and views his accomplishments in it as mere instances of scientific engineering, as opposed to fundamental science.

Easan the Mad seems to be even more accomplished in the field, tapping lightning storms which he can summon at will, to charge the batteries that power many of his experiments. But those hoping for a rigorous presentation of results and theories from this individual are likely to be disappointed. It is not even clear that Easan makes any use of electromagnetic induction in his work.

A similar system of electrical harvesting sits atop the towers of Faith Hold, supposedly with the collected electricity being used to drive engines of an unknown type and to unknown ends. Were those engines to be mundane rather than magical, their creator would surpass Mordenheim as the known world's most accomplished electromagnetist.
