Casimir Lukas, also known as Casimir of Harmonia[1] or Sundered Heart[2][3] , was the son of Harkon Lukas.[4][5] In the account told by "S", Casimir, in his Sundered Heart guise, challenged Zhone Clieous for the title of Meistersinger of Harmonia. Casimir seemed to be winning but lost his voice at the last second and thus lost the competition.[3]
Later Sundered Heart returned and revealed himself as Casimir Lukas, a former child of the destroyed Orphanage of Harmonia. Casimir claimed that Zhone to be the arsonist responsible for the orphanage's destruction to cover up the murder of Casimir's mother. Finally, Casimir revealed that Zhone was a lycanthrope and chased him to the Crystal Club where Casimir subsequently killed him. Thereafter, Casimir became Meistersinger of Harmonia himself. His reign was a mixture of at least seemingly good intentions and outbursts of brutal violence and unhappiness, especially as Harkon Lukas started insinuating himself into his son's life and "educating" him.[3]
Towards the end of 737 BC, Casimir himself was ousted for being a werebeast. He fled Harmonia and was presumed to be killed soon thereafter.[3]
It is recorded in Heart of Midnight that in death, the often tormented Casimir reverted not to his wolf form, but his human form. This was to the great consternation of Harkon Lukas, who insisted that Casimir's humanity had been a sham, a disguise. It seems, however, that Casimir's true nature somehow transcended his greater wolfwere genetics.
The life and death of Casimir Lukas and his relationship with Harkon Lukas are explored in Heart of Midnight.
Despite the similarity of the names, the alias Sundered Heart should not be confused with the Shadowfell domain called Sunderheart.
