First mentioned in the article "Little Horrors[1], Bovis Mater is one of the Loa or Spirits worshiped by the Chi-Folken of the domain Madego.
In the mythology of the Chi-Folken, Bovis Mater is the spirit of Life itself. In this she contrasts Lupta's dominion over fertility and Grigria's mastery of desire. Described as endlessly placid and benign, Bovis Mater loves all living things equally and helps it to thrive as much as possible. Her positive aspect is self-evident, but in her negative aspect she is also the progenitor of predators that stalk her worshipers, and the diseases that gather in the sweat of Equus Vecors.
Appearance
When depicted or manifested, Bovis Mater appears as a great cow. The sun (or suns) constantly reflect in her golden horns, and her udders are full of milk. She is fat and ungainly, but remarkably steady both in balance and gait.
Relationships
As Bovis Mater brings forth disease and Equus Vecors embodies and spreads it, one might assume there is some form of symbiotic relationship between the two, if not more. Nothing definite has been stated, however.
