Albert Helmer

Deformed with several bone spikes sticking out of him, Albert Helmer is the Freaks of Carnival known as the Human Morningstar.. He is a former thief and gang leader from Falkovnia. Orphaned at a young age by the Talons, Albert and his sister Ingrid Helmer were forced to make a living on the streets through burglary. Albert's life changed when his gang burgled the wrong house. After seeing a gaunt man wielding a scythe and a man dressed in a large, dark colored cloak in the house, Albert's gang (including his sister) were killed or badly maimed. Albert fled with his sister in hand and came upon Carnival. Before he could get help, she was dead.

Helmer went on to join Carnival and therefore succumbed to the Twisting. His grief of losing Ingrid and antipathy towards the gaunt scythe-wielder has manifested as bone spikes that dot his body. Albert has been keeping his hear on rumors about Levkarest, hoping to hear rumors about the Whistling Fiend, whom he believes is responsible for Ingrid's demise.
