Acchalus is, strangely enough, a ghost who has possessed another ghost, that of his killer Hurrek. Acchalus uses the ghostly stone giant to watch over the Temple of Athena that Acchalus once failed to protect.[1]
Acchalus was the commander of the guards who protected the Temple of Athena. However, a band of invaders led by Hurrek attacked the temple. During the fight, Acchalus lost his magic sword and subsequently was killed. Acchalus' bitter frustrations caused him to rise as a ghost consumed with the urge to protect the temple. Many years later, Acchalus would take possession of Hurrek's ghostly form after the giant had been murdered.[1]
