Dr. Van Richten, Claudia DeShanes, Jameld of Hroth, Gedlan Ironheart, and Belinderissa take on various ancient dead in this year.[3]- The Seekers of the Seven Scarabs cult is broken up by Jameld of Hroth and Rudolph van Richten.[4]
- Merilee Markuza kills Claudia DeShanes and eludes Van Richten in Lamordia.[5]
- On the trail of Markuza, Van Richten witnesses the Thundering Carriage and begins to hunt ghosts.[6]
- Plague claims the lives of Thoris' parents. Casimir befriends him and takes him to the Red Porch Poorhouse. At this time, Thoris is 5 and Casimir is 8.[7]
- Merilee Markuza becomes friends with Adam.[5]
- Falkovnia tries to invade Dorvinia; this results in the Gold Claw Massacre.[8]
- Andrez Kriegel (later known as Andrez Weisritter) is born.[9]
- Claude d'Honaire becomes terribly weakened by disease, leading to his replacement by Dominic D'Honaire as chief adviser to the Lord-Governor.[10]
(A Curious Sediment Dread Possibility) Workers at the Andaas Vineyards discovered a few splotchy mauve toadstools growing among the vines. The Corpsewort Toadstool usually grows only in the Tainted Wood, miles away. With no idea how or why the fungus was transplanted, the vinters nonetheless order the workers to toadstools quickly burn the toadstools and complete the harvest. It is only years later that they will come to understand that Andaas Brimbubbly ‘27 was infected with deadly spores, making it one of the most notorious vintages ever produced.[11]
Adventurers steal the Shadow Serpent from an unnamed crimelord in Hazlan and use it to kill him. They try the same against Lord Soth, but the plan fails. Unable to kill Soth, the Serpent comes after the adventurers and slays them to the last man. Following their demise, the Serpent is claimed by the Order of the Guardians (more specifically, the Keepers of the Coil.)[12]- Massa di Requiem per Shuggay is given to Ivana Boritsi.
