Also known as "Bon Seigneur Belenfant". Elie is the patriarch of the Belenfant family; a preacher who advocates faith and hard work in a fire and brimstone style, though what deity or religion he represents is unclear. Personally, he seems the opposite from his zealot self in the plantation field, where he is unassuming and polite.[1]
Elie is married to Bercine Belenfant and together they have 6 adult children.[1]
