Tepest is a [[domain]] of rural horror. Whereas most of the domain is plagued by nasty weather, nonarable soil, and most of all malicious [[fey]], [[Viktal (Shadowfell|Viktal]] seems to be a haven of serene, pastoral beauty. Existing as the sole community of significance in Tepest, Viktal seems on the surface a place of utopian rustic simplicity. People here seem to treat each other- and newcomers- with friendliness, and the surrounding fields are bountiful. However the peaceful exterior and cheery veneer come at a cost. A feeling of constant observation hangs over the town, though such feelings are dismissed as fey tricks. The townspeople cling to hopeful, naturalistic creeds to shroud quiet desperation.
