Hellinken was a doppleganger lurking in Mordent during the time of Strahd and Azalin's visit to that land[1] in 579 BC.
Noncanon Information
Hellinken was one of the few standard doppelgangers in the Land of Mists. An outlander, it settled in Mordent, and spawned a clan of like doppelganers, changelings, and half-doppelgangers. His ghost is now held captive in the House on Gryphon Hill by Godefroy. A unique involuntary salient ability transmits his torments psychically to his descendants, allowing Godefroy to control them indirectly.[2]
