Gold is a valuable, extremely malleable metal that is not subject to tarnishing. It is mined as a commodity. In is also, in many lands and particularly among the wealthy of those lands, money, the most easily exchanged commodity, and hence the unit of exchange.

Notable gold deposits exist in Darkon^[1], Valachan^[2], Vechor^[3], and Sanguinia^[4]. There is also gold in Markovia^[5], Sebua^[6], and the Wildlands^[7], but the lack of developed civilizations in these latter three domains means the gold remains unexploited.
