Owlmays are female humans who can transform into owls. They are guardians of nature similar to the swanmays of other worlds, but characterized by a unique hatred of the undead. Inductees into the order may be rangers or caretakers (druids).[1] The owlmay was updated to third edition rules in Heroic Birds of Prey netbook article for the Undead Sea Scrolls 2002.[2]

Quoth the Raven Issue 28 offers an alternative take on Owlmays for 5th edition. Whilst still made up of a sorority of female druids and rangers, which are presented as playable subclasses, the sorority is also giving birth to a unique strain of caliban-like beings, who can shift between the form of a harpy-like half-owl creature and a fully human appearance. These "born" owlmays are offered as a potential playable race.
