They are thoroughly dependent on chemical energy, overwelmingly derived from other living creatures including plants. Biology does not recognise the vermin type. Members of this type are studied as insects, arachnids, and other similar invertebrates. However, most vermin fall within the remit of biology or at least abnormal biology. The Knowledge (nature) skill may yield knowledge of vermin.
Having little intelligence of their own, vermin are normally considered mindless.
