Katrina's family were one of the lucky few that actually escaped the [[Ravenloft|Demiplane of Dread]], however she willingly returned by unknown means to locate her aunt, [[Elise Von Brandthofen|Elise]].  She has heard terrible rumors about her uncle, and feared for her aunt's safety. She was abducted by [[Dr. Mordenheim]] for use in a terrible experiment to revive his wife, but was presumably saved by a group of adventurers.
