707 BC, Falkovnia tried to invade Dementlieu.[1] Led by Captain Jardine[2], the Dementlieuse military repulsed the invaders. History attributes the victory to the use of firearms, a technology the Falkovnians were unfamiliar with. However, Monsieur Turcotte told an account different from the official explanation when interviewed by "S", saying that a Falkovnian military officer suddenly betrayed his fellows and heavily contributed to their downfall.[3]
This might suggest the influence of Dominic d'Honaire's domination powers.
As a result of his loss, Vlad Drakov commanded his officers the wearing of magical bracers, which Monsier Turcotte says causes terrible pain to would-be betrayers of Falkovnia.[3]
