Horrorclix promo scanned

Post by Brandi »

Here.

Few licensed figures as of yet, though I noticed a few of the "serial numbers filed off" variety (the Ghostfinders, the Evil Leprechaun, the Vampire Hunter)...

Thanks, Brandi, there are a few here I would like to have. I'm not sure I want to invest enough to get the ones that only come with the Starter game or with the Buy a Brick program, but I'm sure I can get them on ebay eventually. When did you say these come out? All my gaming money is going into the War of the Dragon Queen mini set right now....
I only wish I had retired sooner!

Awsome.
I've know about these models for a while, since my local gaming store has a poster - yet the wizkids website still hasn't opened a gallery.

I play Heroclix, but still not sure about the rules to Horrorclix and such... might get some if the rest of the Heroclix group I play with will also so that we can learn it all together.

No, I suppose some are not well painted compared to others.
The Terror demon, for example, is a pathetic mess compared to some of the others.
But still, neat selection.

Bha!

I saw the starter deck yesterday. Up close, I can honestly say that Wiccy was completely right - they are exceptionally poor quality.
They were real eye-sores. big solid colours dominated most of the models, and some of the details were inappropriately coloured. like the Out patient's pink tentalces.

The only exception might be fore the Evil Dead tree included in the pack. It looked awesome!

I'm also ticked by the fact that the booster packs are concelaed - hiding the true contents. I thought that such foolishness was long over. I mean who wants to by a mystery model?

I think I would have rathered Clix to put out unpainted minis in standard blisters.

You're underestimating the gambling thrill of blind packaging-- it STILL works for CCGs and creates a fine secondary market when people sell/trade what they don't want.

And while the pre-paint jobs may be pretty sorry most people don't want to paint models-- it's difficult and time-consuming.

Bought the starter and the figs are okay IMO, but having a hard time with the rules (I have no head for numbers, honestly). But over all, I'm terribly impressied, plus, several of the characters I wanted most (based on the characters they represented, like Tomb Mummy, are simply bad pieces in actual play. The veteran Vampire Hunter is the shiznat though.

Gonna save my money on the upcoming Heroclix set Supernova, with Silver Surfer, Thanos, Thor, and Nova and other cosmic alien superheros, not spend 8 bucks for a Runaway, Constrictor, Zombie Lawyer, and Tickler.

Have they ever done a Emma Frost of Kitty Pryde in HeroClix? I've never followed it that closely and missed most of the sets that've been released over the years :(

I'm dissapointed. When they first announced HorrorClix they had all these ideas for classic monsters and characters ranging from Buffy to Ash to Freddy and Jason but now we see them they're all blandly generic...

Hmmm... not to impressed with those ones of Kitty, Emma doesn't look to bad though. However, how can they give a White Queen incarnation of Emma the Diamond Form? She didn;t get that until much later! LOL.
