I generally like horror-historicals. The Colonial Era/War of American Independence is underused. Looks cool.
Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.
Looks like a neat idea. The Americas were still a vastly unexplored place, filled with strange places and ever stranger people.
Colonial Gothic kind of reminds me of that Lovecraft story, "Picture in the House". The puritans took so much trouble to conceal that which was distasteful, that they became less tasteful in what it was that they were concealing.
That's the story with the crazy old man and his ''Africky book'', yes?
Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.
Come to think of it, there are a lot of Lovecraft tales that date something back to colonial times. Colonial Gothic could feature the founding of Innsmouth, or the start of the ghoul warrens under Boston.
Looks like a nice, simple and expressive System too. I've played Ravenloft and/or Masque in Warhammer FRP, Amazing Engine, Mercenaries Spies & Private Eyes and Beyond the Supernatural, but this system looks like it would take to Ravenloft or Masque like a Vampire to the Red Stuff!
