Yeah, I saw it. Never saw the first Hellboy movie though; was it any good?

Hellboy was okay, not earth-shattering, but okay. I don't know how close it was to the comics, though.

I think so, Brain, but didn't we give up ritual murder for Lent?

As a Hellboy reader, I can say the movie was extraordinarily faithful to the first Hellboy book. It should be, Mike Mignola (creator of Hellboy) was a full-time consultant to the picture, was there on a daily basis in fact.

There were a few small changes made, much to Mr Mignola's chagrin..."they improved on those characters in ways I wouldn't have thought of, i'm jealous in fact" he was quoted as saying.

Apropos of nothing-I don't think anyone but Ron Perlman could have successfully done the Hellboy character. Wow.
"And did she ever come out?"
"Not Yet".

I saw Cloverfield last Wednsday. Not that I want to bring it down, but could it be the unofficial prequel to Starship Troopers!?

Doesn't seem likely, but I can see the connection.

When Starship Troopers came out, I always thought the bugs looked like Slivers from Magic: the Gathering.
