The NEW Tales From The Crypt comic

Post by LordGodefroi »

OK, a new Tales From The Crypt comic (from a company called PaperCutz) has recently hit the stands. I hadn't heard anything about it through typical channels. I walked into the comic shop one day and there it was.

To be honest, I was hoping it was another cycle of reprints similar to what Gladstone had done in the early 90's. But, when I thumbed through it, I found new material. I read one story, which was OK, right there in the store.

The real disappointment was the artwork. Sorry, the artists for Papercutz have a long way to go before they'll equal the work of Wally Wood or Jack Davis.

As much as I love horror comics, if the quality of this version of TFTC remains as it is in the first issue, they won't have me as a continuing reader.

I guess I'll have to plunk down the dough for the new EC Archives hardbacks.

I have issues with alot of comics because of the substandard art that's far to widespread these days. However, with zombie comics it's often the poor script that puts me off them. While I love Romero's movies, his comics leave alot to be desired...

I do enjoy the BeGoths comic though, it's hilarious! hahaha

Try the Walking Dead.

Parts 5 and 6 are a little bit worse than the rest, but on the whole the series is great.

Hell, the art sucked by Keenspace standards. Awful stuff.

I collect The Walking Dead, I also know Charlie Adlard quite well and see him quite often. Got my hands on some of his original art earlier this year too, I was pleased as punch, heheheh.
