I've always been a fan of Iron Kingdoms to. In fact, I am a fan of any setting/wargame that has mecha-like war machines dominating the battlefields...Gotta love those SteamJacks...Ivana_Boritsi wrote:Way to go for 7th Sea!
Here's a vote for: Iron Kingdoms. Long live gobbers!

Your heart turns to stone
She comes at night when you are all alone
And when she whispers
Your blood shall run cold
You better hide before she finds you"

I agree that Deadlands is awesome, though i prefer the original to the d20 system game, the idea of a western game that uses poker chips really appeals to me.Reginald de Curry wrote:Deadlands gets my vote, though The Witchfire Trilogy has a high status as well....
As for the Witchfire Trilogy and the Iron Kingdoms, well you can't get hold of them for love or money over in the UK, though I have afriend who has the Trilogy. Personally I don't like them and found them too stereo-typical and basic.

Bwa! No fair, I didn't know we could vote for Deadlands!
Can I change my vote?
No?
Okay then.
Darksun is a pretty darn good setting, but I must admit that Deadlands is an even better one. Deadlands is a lot like Ravenloft, in that the setting is so wonderfully flavoured by the theme. Just as Ravenloft is built from the ground up as an expression of the Gothic style, so too is Deadlands built to be a grisly, tongue in cheak slasher horror.
Sigh... if only weird wars had been as good....

Iron Kingdoms is an industrialized fantasy campaign (or steampunk, if you prefer that term). Click here for more info.
Pinky! Are you pondering what I'm pondering?
I think so, Brain, but didn't we give up ritual murder for Lent?

1. Ravenloft
2. SpellJammer
3. Oriental Adventures (Kara-Tur)
4. Dragonlance (Pre-Fifth Age)
5. Anything else
I currently DM two campaigns. The first meets weekly (though we haven't played in a few weeks, since the baby was born) and is with experienced players. This is my Ravenloft campaign. The second, which is played monthly, is with less experienced players, like my wife and two pre-teens. I try to steer away from Ravenloft for this latter game, as it has a maturity level that I don't feel that the two kids (or my wife, for that matter) can handle. For this, we use a home-brewed world.
I also am a player in a Forgotten Realms campaign that involves six people from my Sunday School class. I like the FR as a player, but I don't think that I'd like to DM there.

I liked some of the things that Spelljammer introduced to the system, specifically the crystal sphere theory. I never did manage to rationalize their version of gravity... Standing up on the bottom of a ship just doesn't sit well with me.
One of these days, I'm going to get it right. Until then, I guess I can just keep being a fool.
