Do you know what really doesn't surprise me about this poll...?

Aside from Dragonlance, the two next highest ranking campaign settings are both products that are not 'officially' supported by WotC anymore.

Unofficially however, it appears fans just don't want to let them go. There's been the release of the Dark Sun 3.0/3.5 rules from athas.org, and a partially complete release of the new 3e Planescape campaign setting from planewalker.com, with a 'Guide to Sigil' on the way soon.

I chose Planescape. It's always been my favorite non-RL setting since the first day I picked up the boxed set one month after it was initially released. Dragonlance, and Spelljammer are tied as the second favorite...Sigil, the planes, the fiends...it has it all...

Hmm...there appears to be one vote for 'Other'...

I'm curious, who chose that answer, and which 'other' setting did you choose...?

I did, if you noticed my previous post.

Of all of the settings for D&D, I've only ever played in Ravenloft. I never played a tabletop game in any of those established settings; all of the settings I've been in have been homebrew settings. I've played the FR-set, 1st Edition Pool of Radiance computer games, which I admit are a guilty pleasure. But that's the limit of my true exposure to the "core" campaign settings.
One of these days, I'm going to get it right. Until then, I guess I can just keep being a fool.

Sorry about that, Cole. I had included it when I initially created the thread, but there was some sort of glitch that caused it to be excluded. The missing option didn't become apparent until later that day, and I fixed it at that time. :?

For me it's Dragonlance, with Planescape in second. Like so many others, Raistlin is one of my favourite all time characters and the setting has always held more interest for me than FR. A friend of mine has just picked up the d20 Dragonlance books, I can't wait to play as a Solamnic or a Kender (not at the same time obviously  ). I've never had the chance to play in Planescape, but Torment got me very interested in the setting.

I'm going to bring up my second favorite setting because I'm so sad no one's voted for it yet . . . ^_- After Dragonlance, I like Spelljammer. It's just so darn quirky. I mean, you have giant space hamsters, star pork, avaricious penguins, and robotic tinker gnomes! It's a little too weird to rank ahead of Dragonlance, but that very weirdness is its charm.

Another huge fan of planescape. To this day my longest lasting campaign was my planescape one.

I´ve never actually tried any other published setting than Ravenloft, expect for the old one included in the Red and Blue D&D books, way back. There are lots of settings I´d love to check out, however, such as Planescape, 7th Sea, Iron Kingdoms, Al-Quadim, Dark Sun, Oriental Adventures and, yes, even Spelljammer. Some old, and some new...

Planescape, definately. Just so stylish and full of options, ancient secrets, exploration and conflicts.

I also like my homebrewed world of Gothica, but I never fully fleshed it out.
