Hey, Desdichado--don't swear in Spanish either, okay? Thanks. :lucas:

Castle Ravenloft, though. Pretty exciting. Considering that they hold the rights to Ravenloft now, I guess it could be anything. Certainly better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

okay now, everybody take a deeeeeeep breath.

knowing Wizards, whatever's in this book (re-tweak I6, methinks) may be more high-powered than what White Wolf came out with. plus, it might be written somewhere that "you most likely will need HoH to use this book." it may be great that Wizards is publishing RL again, but we all may need to accept the reality it's not the RL we all expect it to be.

 I am sorry! Where I come from, this means *How great!* or *Cheers!*... (Now, I just checked some web dictionaries and really, most translate it as a bad word into English. I apologize. :) )

----------------------------------------------------------

Here's a first quote from Mouseferatu aka Ari Marmell about the book:
Believe me, I'd have given my right arm to be part of the creative team on Castle Ravenloft.

Well, no. That would make it hard to type. Let's make it my right leg. ;)

That said, with a team like James and Bruce on it, I've no doubt it's going to be one of the best books to come out this year. I'm looking forward to it.
I am curious how successful this will be - other companies are making considerably high sales with RPG material from the *first generation*, like Gary Gygax' *Castle Zagyg*, Necromancer Games with *Wilderlands*, or, soon enough, the rerelease of the original Dragonlance Campaign.

Rumour has it that WotC is planning to make more money out of such *redone classics* to keep oldschoolers interested. For, despite WotC saying the contrary, the main customership for D&D aren't the eleven-years-old DMs, but older fans like us, who at least bring a mild interest for every month's new releases. - Now, with dropping almost every older setting, WotC has lost a considerable lot of the fan base to other companies...

I am pretty sure there is like this module to come... :)

Thanks Drinnik, I have missed that.

Des... You should look an ulitharid. Perhaps if I polymorphed you to an octopus and then showed a mirror?

About the adventure/Castle ravenloft... I believe it will be both I6 and I10 and some info about the old Barovia.

Talk about infinite improbability factor (I was just reading Hitch hikers guide to the galaxy when I saw this).

Ok, one of many things can happen from this. Either:

1: This is some new connotation to the words "Castle Ravenloft" that we've never heard of before.

2: This book will be true to the rules made by White Wolf, in which case WOTC has actually wizened up *pats the coastal wizard on the head*.

3: This book will be wizards attempt to say "Hey, we're better than that pesky rebellion of fan based campaign settings. Don't pay any attention to them and pay us more money". In which case, this book would be like the campaign setting in title alone.

4: (the worst) WOTC is incorporating old adventurers into Ebberon as 'undiscovered areas' where Strahd Von Zarovich is a War Forged who turned vampire...dear mother...

5: Des is playing a REALLY elaborate prank on us...I wouldn't put it past him...

There are two ways to look at this until we know more.

The glass is half-empty, or it's half full.

Mine is half full. Thank you very much.

Let's say that, knowing the GENERAL quality of WotC products, I'm happy.
Thinking about the AUDIENCE of the products (dare to say Heroes of Horror? The Freddy vs. Jason of D&D books? :P), I'm REALLY worried.

No, mom... Make that Azalin with Archmage levels go away... No... Not that Archvampire Strahd... Mom... No... Not that +7 greatsword-wielding 25th level Fighter Vlad Drakov... AAAAHHHH! ...Just a nightmare...

I liked Heroes of Horror. It was a very helpful book.

*Slightly distracted by his outburst of violence*

Yes, it's first presented in the Forbidden Lore Box, and one of the coolest domains I had the pleasure to read about so far... :)
