twisted beautiful art

Post by sabbattack »

I found this artist by mistake. His works are strangely beautiful (he works wonders with hues) but sickly disturbing at the same time.

Look here: http://www.jameswjohnson.com/vault/violent.htm for a slideshow and to the domain for some galleries.

Some of them are really "ravenloftesque"!

Wow. Some of these are really frightening...

Actually, I wasn't that impressed. There were a few interesting pieces. I liked the Chef with the woman on the platter, or the tiny woman beast in the boxing arena.

I got rather tired of the women with their tear away clothes. Once was an interesting picture, but ten is just too much of the same stupid thing.

Can't say it evokes much of a reaction in me one way or the other. Most of it is too cartoony. I've seen art much more disturbing and better drawn.

Brilliant.
Just consider this guys sense of metaphor, It's amazing. Plus he has real talant. Granted, he has quite a dark outlook, and from what I could gather some very opinionated views on the generals of human nature, but at least it's honest. Thanks for the link. It's great stuff.

I found some of them disturbing and many of them seem to have a streak of Dark humor. I didn't like them very much however, nothing special, just not my taste.

PS I don't like drawing where people cook their children.

Creepy enough. And I agree with alhoon, children should be eaten raw or not at all.
Pinky! Are you pondering what I'm pondering?

I think so, Brain, but didn't we give up ritual murder for Lent?

I disagree, I like my baby tex-mex! A little bit of cajun can be good as well, some etou-baby
