These are sad news. But I`m happy with the books released through these years. These books gave me new inspiration and strenght to play my favorite setting.

My thanks and eternal gratitude to all those involved in the 3 ed Ravenloft line: Each member of the Kargatane, Steve Miller, Rucht Lilavivat, Jackie Cassada, Nicky Rea, Claudio Pozas, Talon Dunning, Harold Johnson, and all the other names behind the books!

I hope the K be able to tell us their ideas for the Gazetteers, I´m crossing my fingers.

I don't know if it's a coincidence but the S&S site now shows e-book bestsellers only. As you can guess, no more Ravenloft products listed there.

I would love to see Ravenloft D&D miniatures now that Wizards has the license back.

Even if we never see another "official" Ravenloft product, it's not the end of the world ... or the demiplane. Heck, look at the "Vaults of Pandius" website for the Mystara setting! That gameworld's probably the worst-neglected of all the major D&D/AD&D settings, yet its fans have done an amazing job of building on what TSR gave them to start from. Surely we can do the same for Ravenloft in the years to come, products or no products.

I'm sad to see the loss of a print version of Ravenloft, but at least we'll have the Fraternity around. For all it's faults, it was an extremely good run.

Do we know for a fact that WotC won't continue the Gazetteers? They might not be the same as the current Gazetteers, but they'd at least be something.

Sigh. I'm pretty unambiguously disappointed about this; other than Champions of Darkness, Heroes of Light, and the random additions to the PHB, I really liked the way White Wolf handled the setting. WotC might pleasantly surprise me, but I'm having trouble seeing this as anything but a step down. Still, I'm going to keep my hopes up . . .

WotC hasn't done anything about the setting, they just have the rights back. WW probablt wasn't asked to return them, they just lost them or gave them back.
Ravenloft joins the series of settings where the rights are owned by WotC but nothing will probably ever be published regarding them again. Just like Mystra, Dark Sun, Planescape, Al Qadim, Kar Tur, etc.

Hi.
Sad news that Arthaus left the adventure.
I fear now what will happen to our so beloved game into the grip of those wizards.
I don't want to see all those efforts to build RL into a real playable world (and not a one shot campaign for heroes of another realms,) ruined by fantasy like Forgotten Realm
Even if i loved some of the new materials in the 3rd edition (Gazeteer are perfect) there were lacking a wind of change.
No adventures were released during the whole 3rd edition.
Some great modules like bleak house, Castle Forlorn and great adventure like the evil eye belong to the past.
It's our duty as fan to continue to feed this great game by our imagination.
I took my inspiration in reading the log of fan campaign (especially joel's one) and pick up some of ur nice ideas, like sharing cooking recipe.
Even if RL is not continued by Wizards, so what?Does we really need those canon books?Not really .

That isn't ENTIRELY true. Take a look at "Dark Tales & Disturbing Legends." (Some of the people involved with the products you described as 'great' were even involved in producing "Dark Tales."

(Okay... "Dark Tales" only has *one* part that I think qualifies as a full-blown adventure in the traditional sense... but the other parts of the book should feed dozens more.)

Here's a thought: Even if they don't support it officially, maybe WoTC will go back to allowing an offical out of house site (much like Kargatane was when Ravenloft died last time). I'd say odds are if they do this is the site most likely to get the attention. After all, is there a more worthy successor to SotK around? I think not.

Well, in QtR and USS are . . . how many adventures? I believe there are about 4 or more.

Scrooge McDuck was a mad prospector for diamonds in the Wildlands, when he was cursed to slowly transform into a duck for his powers checks as he nevertheless gained profitted greatly for his treasure hunting. Now hiding away in Port-A-Lucine, he uses adventurers to rob graves and bring him more treasure while dealing with his equally deformed nephews.

He's feuding with a Sorceress named Magica who wishes to steal his cursed coin that brings good fortune but prevents him from ever parting from any of it and an ex-partner from the Wildlands that hunts him mercilessly in Glomgold.

He employs a brutish but stupid Werepelican.

Howdy all,

Given the news, thought I'd pop my head in for a quick comment....

This is certainly another milestone in Ravenloft's history, but I certainly don't think it's any kind of disaster like a few people have suggested. It's been shown before that just because a setting isn't being published doesn't mean it's dead. Whether or not it gets picked up by someone else, the enthusiasm of the fan base can easily keep the setting going - so hang in there!

It's like a Vampire in this respect.

I doubt this stake through the heart will kill it.
