Sanguinia info?

Post by Dominique »

I know that there's information about Vorostokov out there, but I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can find info on that other pseudo-Russian domain of freezing death. I have a player who really wants her character to be from Sanguinia, and while I'm always game for making stuff up, it's also nice to have actual info to work with, and the stuff in the core rulebook and SotDR only takes us so far . . . does anyone know where I can find more stuff? I know that Sanguinia is one of the less-covered domains, so now I'm just trying to find out whether it gets any cover at all, anywhere, in anything.

The Edgar Allen Poe short story "The Masque of the Red Death" is what Mircea's based on. Perhaps the locals are all very sickly, the population would be sparse because of the disease.

Um, didn't the RLDMG say that the living inhabitants of Sanguinia are rosy-faced, and extremely hardy? It's extremely difficult to survive a land of endless winter if you suffer from disease-induced anemia. From what little I've read, the disease that ravaged Mircea and his kingdom doesn't exist in Sanguinia today. However, Mircea thinks that he's still suffering from the disease and seeks some alchemical cure for it.
"Arrogant mortal! You are in my world now and you will never leave this attic alive! I will destroy you, and then I will possess she whom you love the most. And there is not a single thing in the world you can do to stop me!"

Not sure about this. He's seeking an alchemical cure for his version of vampirism, yes; whether or not he thinks he's still suffering from the disease that ravaged him is an open question.

OK. I'll see what I can extrapolate from Poe. Thanks, everybody!
