Well let's see, Dr supposedly wipes out a race of infamous villians, nearly as famous as the show itself... yeah, I'm sure that'll work :).

Not long now until this is released where I live and may I say about time.

Does anyone know if this is rating well and will continue in a second series?

It's the number 1 rated show for it's timeslot, I think. It's getting a second series, but with a new Doctor.

It's also getting a Christmas special between series 1 and 2.

I genuinely felt sorry for the Dalek in the latest episode. MY mum was also crying at the end, she felt even more sorry for it than me. My friend I was visiting over the weekend felt more sorry for the decapitated Cyberman, as did a mutual friend of ours who took quite a strong opinion to having the poor Cyberman having his head cut off.

Best line of the episode... "Broken... broken... hairdrier..." hehehehe

Looking forward to next weeks episode, Simon Pegg is in it :)

I like how they are slowly developing what happened during the last Time War and the Doctor's involvement, it is slowly placing him him in a very poor light, as well as a mass murderer of both the Timelord and Dalek races. he says he did what was necessary, I would love to learn how it became necessary to wipe out both of the races, ten million ships destroyed at his own hand, not a nice chap :P

that line and the Dalek's comment "You would make a good Dalek" is superb!

I'm realling wondering just what the Doctor did to wipe out the entire Dalek race, and why his race was wiped out in the process, and if he knew what would happen if he undertook those actions.

But what ever happened, he's now commited one of the Universe's greatest acts of genocide...... so much for being somewhat of a pacifist like he used to be in the olden days.... Darklordship calling anyone? :D

Forgive me for asking this but if the Doctor wiped out the Dalek race does that mean there won't be any more Dalek episodes?

No, the Dalek's were only wiped out from a certain point in time, they still exsist before that point!

Well, given the Seventh Doctor set the Daleks up to destroy their own homeworld, and that the Sixth destroyed a species that would have destroyed all animal life on Earth... by that standard, he should have been a Darklord ages ago. He's not so much of a pacifist as we'd like to think.

As for whether there'll be any more Dalek eps, there're rumours regarding the end of the series...

The Seventh Doctor story was the excellent "Remembrance of the Daleks" (out on DVD). If you can, try to find the novelization by author Ben Aaronovitch -- it has a lot of "extra" scenes that expand on Sylvester McCoy's cryptic references to the Doctor's past. Good stuff. (I just peeked on Amazon; used copies of the paperback are available, but they're expensive.)

The Sixth Doctor wiped out the Vervoids, an intelligent (and carnivorous) plant species. It was part of the disappointing "Trial of a Time Lord" series (also out on DVD, I think).

Yes!

I still remember getting my photo taken with a Dalek when I was young. Daleks never die.

I'm able to see a couple of Daleks whenever i want, i only live a few miles from East Ham in East London, where the Doctor who Shop is, they have two life size Daleks, one in the window and one beside the till, and IIRC, they're original's :D

You, sir, have now officially earned my envy. I want Daleks *tantrum*

I caught some of the later episodes of Dr Who, starting with the two-parter about the Slytheen. I like it. Though I think Eccleston looks absolutely manic when he grins. It gives me chills and makes me wonder about the good Doctor's mental condition. Then again, with his guilt about wiping out the Timelords in the last Timewar, that's understandable ;)
Have to fight, cause I know
in the end it's worthwhile,
that the pain that I feel slowly fades away.
It will be alright
