Salient Powers Question

Post by Stygian Inquirer »

I just got Denizens of Dread and have discovered the Elemental Lich and then a question came to mind: Do Elemental Liches gain salient powers like regular liches? And for that matter, do they get the 'universal' lich power lich sight? :azalin:

I don't have the book, but if the Elemental Liche is a template and works like the other Liche template, then I would say yes.

If you're really only planning to use *one* elemental lich IYC, then its unfamiliar abilities as a member of that template should be plenty to make it a unique, memorable villain. OTOH, if you're going to be using a lot of them (I pity your players....), allowing each one to develop its own salient abilities will help maintain these liches' individuality and mystery.

Thanks guys for the replies. I thought that it would get salient powers like a lich because of the parallel with vampire salient powers being given to special vampire strains also. You just wouldn't give the elemental lich the powers relating to the control of undead.

Thanks for the input! *ideas start brewing*
