As a big Buffy the vampire slayer fan…
I’ve always liked the idea of having a figure like the slayer in my Ravenloft setting. Obviously the trimmings of the character Buffy wouldn’t mesh well, but I think the idea of a “slayer” one in the world at a time has some pretty cool potential. Any other fans of the show? Or even just ideas of good implementation for a line of supernaturally enhanced slayeresque figures?

Coincidentally, the Lady Fordam and I have been watching Buffy recently. She's never seen it before. Fortunately for me she's enjoying it!
I could see the idea of a slayer working for a solo adventure, but personally I would be wary of using it in a larger group. Having a Chosen One tends to draw lots of attention from the Ones who are not Chosen.

Big Buffy fan here, and currently rewatching with my 16-year-old, who is watching for their first time. THE SHOW IS SO GOOD!
I just have trouble with modern media being brought into Ravenloft in a way that's too "on the nose". For some reason, I'm OK with Mordenheim and Hiregaard as thinly veiled Frankenstein and Jeckyl/Hyde, etc. but if Buffy or Spike showed up, it's jarring to me. I think it requires filing off the serial numbers a little more, the more recent and well known the media is. But I recognize that's personal preference and it might not bother other people. (I had a player want to be a Jedi in Ravenloft once long ago, and maybe that soured me on it.)
I get what Ian's saying, but I had a different kind of "Chosen One" PC in my campaign and it worked fine, I think. You just need to make sure all the other PCs have compelling stories of their own, so they aren't just the "Slayerettes".
I mean, if your players don't watch Buffy, you can get away with lifting the Gentlemen or what have you as-is. But if they do, well, if they want to play as the Slayer of Ravenloft and her scooby gang, sure, go ahead, but there's this as an option too:

I had no idea this was even a thing. Yeah, I definitely agree it can be not great if one person is the chosen one. Personally, I’d rather be willow than Buffy, but I can see how some people would want to fight over who gets to be the slayer. I was more thinking as a lore facet than as a player character. More the general idea that there is a slayer, and as an npc I think it could be very interesting. for clarity, I do not want Buffy in my game, I want the concept of the slayer as a whole.
