Sorry to be a bother, but I need to answer some questions about getting around in the domain of Hazlan; Gazetteer #1 really isn't as helpful as I hoped, though I know that the three main roads of Hazlan are, off the top of my head, the Red Highway (north/south, links Toyalis to Ramulai), the Warlock's Road (west, links to Immol in Barovia) and the Iron Road (east, links to Nova Vaasa). Specific questions I want to ask:
Are there any canonical roads that lead from Hazlan to Forlorn or Kartakass? Or does a would-be traveler to those domains basically have to hike through largely untamed wilderness, exploiting game trails, horse tracks and the odd village road?
Forfarmax is the last frontier town of Hazlan before one enters Forlorn, but is there a similar canonical settlement on the border with Kartakass?
Do we have a canon identity for either the last town in Hazlan before entering Nova Vaasa via the Iron Road, or the first Nova Vaasan town on the Iron Road from Hazlan?
In general, how hard is it to get around in Hazlan?

Re: Traveling in Hazlan
While it may not sound helpful, the answer to such questions in Ravenloft, the canonical answer, always seems to be "as hard as you need it to be" with canon things like "mists" and "roads changing in length so that a trip of hours would take days" and other bizarre phenomena to drive home that Ravenloft is a bizarre, quasi-artificial land that does not make sense under the thrall of mysterious enigmatic powers where reality is not what you think.
That said, which may not be of use to you, my answer about Forlorn has always been "It is untamed wilderness" so ... why would there be a road to there?
Kartakass at least has some settlements so there could be some well travelled paths. But Forlorn (and similarly Verbek) are wilderness.
Something more helpful than "as you want it to be" for how easy it is to travel Hazlan, consider that Hazlan is High Medieval but quite densely populated. I.e. think of say... Syria or Iberia, not Poland or the steppes.
What I mean with that is that the towns and villages should form nice clusters with roads or along roads and leave large tracks of Hazlan as wilderness with few or no roads.
But that is my take on it.

Well, my Mistworld has few domains completely wild. My Forlorn is a pretty well populated land. My Hazlan is a magocracy with wide magic so you have autorepairing road and magical carriages.
