Silver Edition - van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft
Following the super fancy version of Legendary Edition Curse of Strahd, Beadle and Grimm are doing a silver edition of the new setting book:
https://beadleandgrimms.com/silver/van- ... of-waiting
Based on other Silver Edition products, this will probably be cheaper than the last big box. *Only* $175 or so.
Still no word of the contents. Likely maps, a DM screen, handouts, extra encounters and props of some kind.

I've had the Legendary CoS in my cart for over a week now. Probably like most people here I aim to collect every single officially released Ravenloft product I can so.....I need it...but whoo boy, it's a lot of moolah. If this is as you say "only" $175 or so then that's not bad at all.

Noted on the news thread already, but probably deserving of it's own thread. After seeing the B&G CoS set, I'm looking forward to this one with extreme interest..

It's available tomorrow, and I'm a little surprised the contents of this haven't been revealed yet.
Are they expecting people to buy it blind? Or just avoiding spoiling things in a book that's still a month out?

Hyperbog just noted above that it'll be available "tomorrow" (i.e. today). Unless I misread something.Mephisto wrote:The silver edition will be shipped in July...

You are indeed correct. It will be available for pre-order today @ 12 PM PDT / 3 PM EDT.

Jesus....there are four versions. I got the Gothic Horror version just to keep with the theme of the settings, but man, I know sometime in the future I'll be hunting for the remaining three variations.

This seems to be their M.O. They give a general idea of what's in it, but no specifics during the preorder period. It's not my favorite business practice, but I was pleased enough with the CoS box to be somewhat confident in their ability to live up to their own hype.Jester of the FoS wrote:It's available tomorrow, and I'm a little surprised the contents of this haven't been revealed yet.

Here's what they've revealed:
https://beadleandgrimms.com/silver/van-richten
- The book, broken into smaller books
- 3 metal "artifacts"
- Maps of the domains, and 10 battle maps
- 4 bonus encounters
- pre-made PCs
- 10 or more handouts
- bonus art
- 40 encounter cards
- "and more"
And if you preorder, it comes with a free T-shirt.

Re: Silver Edition - van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft
I know, right? I think this finally broke me of my completionism. I'd already planned on buying 3 copies of this book. The regular cover, the LGS exclusive cover, and the Silver edition. I'm not buying 4 copies of a $200 boxed set just to get 4 different pictures on the box.Hyperbog wrote:Jesus....there are four versions. Even completionism has its limits. Getting three superflous copies to get "all the covers" is a bit much.
