Converting a 3.5 campaign to 5E

Post by Algaris »

I'm in the process of converting my 3.5 campaign to 5E and wondered if anyone here knows if the following material has been converted in anyway (DMs Guild, netbook, etc.):

* Denizens of Dread
* Van Richten's Arsenal (including the prestige classes)
* The Darklords from the Gazetteers
* The prestige classes from the Gazetters

I've purchased a copy of Hero's of the Mist (dmsguild.com/product/176659/Heroes-of-the-Mists) from the DMs Guild, which I'm planning to use as an update to the Ravenloft Player's Handbook. If anyone has any recommendations regarding other Ravenloft material there that could be used to update my campaign I'd be interested to hear about it.

I've been working on some of the material myself but any advice regarding converting the 3.5 material would be very helpful.

Officially the only 5e Ravenloft is Curse of Strahd.

I'm actually going through right now converting all my 2e stuff to 5e. It's not as hard as I thought it was going to be. The MM has a lot, and if you are looking for Ravenloft specific converts you can just base it off another similiar monster and add some fluff.

Google has a lot of answers too.

The Fraternity's FAQ page in the Study links to some conversion work done by Jester. I have never given it an in-depth look, but it might be what you are looking for.
