I see, so mostly admin convenience. I know all about that xD.
Though does it show up on phones? The signatures that is? I can’t imagine it’d take up too much space in a dataplan but if you have a limited amount I do see where it could be a problem. I myself check the from my phone. You might note that once it downloads a picture it should have it in RAM (Random Access Memory) which allows it to pull it without having to redownload the same picture. This is why going to a ‘website’ you’ve been to before or recently will always load faster than going to it the first time. This is for convenience.

(Fun Fact)
I can understand the screen space thing too. It’s why we put a limit to our Singatures because always somewhere down the line someone would put in a ridiculously sized picture because they didn’t know how to edit it.
As for what it adds, it just adds a bit of personalization to a form, and identity. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve confused someone on here with the same avatar. I’ve gotten used to some people’s Avatar’s particularly yours, and Bings, that I don’t bother to read your Username any more.
Quite often on other sides I’ll frankly remember signatures more often than usernames or avatars.

Anyways I’ll drop the subject. I just kinda wanted to know… why?
I can officially say this is the first site I’ve ever seen that doesn’t allow pictures in their signatures. (most sites constrain the pixel x pixel size) but not flat out denying. xD Most of the time when they do have that it’s the members that enforce it and the admin doesn’t even lift a finger.
Alright better stop before my tangent ways are seen as complaints! Yikes! I hear Drusilla on the way!
