Vacuum vs. no vacuum, it sounds as though -- based on what we understand about the trees forming a corridor -- an attempt to set a fire wouldn't be advantageous, as it would prevent us from getting to the the Cloaked Scary Man in the back. Lucien's energy wall can thin the hybrid herd a bit, especially if it's in middle of the corridor and if the zombies push more hybrids back toward it, and he can dismiss it whenever is necessary.

As for staying together or not, the current situation won't let us flank the hybrids from opposite ends, which is pretty much what Guzrath had in mind when he suggested it. So we might as stay fairly close to each other, at least within line of sight.

Ok, so now if I understand well.

- about 40' before the 1st rank of zombies are the hybrids
- The hybrids stand before the corridor, shooting and retreating as the zombies advance, but stay in front of the corridor? If so, how much in front of the corridor
Nope, the hybrids are retreating into the corridor. This has been thrown into slight disarray due to the energy wall, but they're still going.
Guzrath wrote:- what's the width and height of this corridor and how deep/long are we talking about. Approx. ofc
The corridor is about ten ft. wide and thirty high.
Guzrath wrote:- we are standing in a large zombie pack, but there are some "loose stumbling" zombies which are between the zombie group and the hybrids or they retreated 40 ft so there is nothing stumbling about between them and us anymore?
The zombies are advancing in staggered ranks. Ordinary zombies are not that fast even when moving at top speed, but the spears are being used in case of exceptional cases that might be hidden in the pack, such as juju zombies. Because the wand-wielder is keeping strict control over his forces, there are no loose stumblers; all the undead are moving at the same rate.
Guzrath wrote:- The zombie pack is only attack from 1 side then? Or in Crescent formation or from different sides?
They're all attacking from one side, i.e., the front.

So it's a natural corridor in the middle of a swamp. We can still go around it right? As far as I can tell it's not as if there a wall to the left and to the right of the corridor.
If there's nothing blocking the left and right side, I say we torch it. Simply because it's easier for them to hold off attackers in a funnel. There's only so many that can go through that 10 ft. wide space.

Can we go around the corridor?

If we can't I would suggest some of you start shooting while I run up...... for lack of a better plan.
Tresspassers will be shot......
Survivors will be shot again.

Feel free to act. My only hesitation about torching the area is that if these zombies are acting on behalf of Souragne itself, then would burning part of Souragne be considered a Bad Thing?

As for those in the corridor, I can keep the energy wall/circle going for a while, and as those in the back die, I could possibly reform it three more times, possibly forcing the hybrids closer to the advancing zombies each time, before Lucien runs out of juice. Not ideal, since Lucien has a surprise for Cloaked Scary Face Guy if he does the split-into-two thing again, and I'd need some power points left to pull that off.

So I guess I'm saying, Lucien can disrupt the crowd farther down the corridor while Zumba and Vincent engage the front, with buffing aid from Goren. If the energy wall zaps the pitchmen, the archers no longer have anyone handing them arrows = goodbye, ranged attacks.

Your plan is good, Lucien. Now that I think on it, a fire in the current heat in Souragne also gets uncontrolled pretty fast, so it might not be wise to do it without knowing how the trees are placed in the rest of the area.

You probably could go around the corridor, but it's extra foggy and there is no guarantee that you will make it around without getting lost.

Just to be clear.

Lucien hold the sphere for 1 rnd longer, Goren "buffs" us up and Zumba and I charge ahead, closing the distance as fast as possible?

Yep, good with me, too. The energy wall can stay up as long as Lucien spends part of his action concentrating on it, plus 5 more rounds after he stops concentrating. So he could even start another energy wall while the first one continues.

Rock: FYI, I'll stick to the conditions I posted in the IC thread regarding the shape of the energy wall. Lucien wants to eliminate the pitch/arrow providers, so enveloping them in a circle seems the best way.

Initiative (1d20+3=14)

Please keep in mind that Lucien would have done the energy wall before Zumba and Vincent began their run to the front. His intent is to disrupt the ranged attacks before his allies make themselves targets.

Hey if we get close enough to the man in black, Goren can try to cast Silence on him so he won't be able to cast any spells.

Good idea or not? The DC is 15 though, but hey it could help us ;)
