I was thinking of steering my players towards the bleak lands of Sithicus and while reading the 4th Gazeteer I tried to think what would the stone giant of the wanderers be refering to. A dragon? A huge bulette? Both seem a bit out of place (even when the source is a 12ft stone giant, hehe) with the setting and I couldn't think of anything else capable of scaring a giant (a purple worm has no claws and larger things are off the scale of "ok, this is too much").
Also, who is Azalin's comment directed to in the final page? "The hounds have found my fox " etc etc. It doesn't fit with Azrael, and Azalin has no dealings with Izna after the screaming shadows. Finally, I have a vague memory of seeing somewhere a profile in the manner of "who is doomed" in the Gazeteers for the Jongleur. Are there any cannon details about this figure? What is the comment "power is drawn to power" refering to?

If you're referring to what he warns S about with regards to the tunnels and abandoned mines of Sithicus... Inza's down there still, as are the salt shadows and probably any number of other incorporeal undead haunting the place where they died horrible deaths.sabbattack wrote:I was thinking of steering my players towards the bleak lands of Sithicus and while reading the 4th Gazeteer I tried to think what would the stone giant of the wanderers be refering to. That becomes obvious at the start of Gazetteer Five. If you don't have it, though, consider what S just told Azalin she did. For the record, I don't think Azalin ever had any dealings with Azalin. She's a rather petty figure, as Core politics go; she made a grab for personal power, with little evident thought for the repercussions to the rest of the domains, and even now she's the Darklord of Sithicus, she still doesn't seem to be spending a lot of energy on improving her standing in the world at large. At least that is my opinion...sabattattck wrote:Also, who is Azalin's comment directed to in the final page? Only one canon detail I can offer you: The Jongleur is one of the children of the Gentleman Caller. As such, he's a pretty powerful creature himself, and he's working for one of the Darklords. Thus, power is drawn to power.sabattack wrote:Finally, I have a vague memory of seeing somewhere a profile in the manner of "who is doomed" in the Gazeteers for the Jongleur. I think even Azalin would agree with that.

No, he wouldn't. He can berate himself all he wants when his plans fail, but at the end of the day he still thinks he can achieve perfection and fails to account for his own flaws.
