I have previously made an alteration to a monk class ( I think) to give it the feeling of a brazilian Capoeirista. Can I try to convince you to its merits?
Oh man, I was thinking of the same idea, guess you beat me to it fair and square, back to the drawing board it is :P

An update: I now have three sheets, from Guzrath, Sareau and Tarlyn. Once I have the last three, we can start getting underway. ^^

Two notes, which I see I forgot to add - my bad. >_<

1: Except for Tarlyn, please all make sure you have access to the Mordentish language. You don't need to distinguish between High and Low Mordentish, as they're dialects of the same language.

2: Dice rolls in-game will be run through the Invisible Castle online dice roller.

Hey Rock, just a little doubt: Are we using point buy, or rolling our stats?

I am juggling with a couple of character ideas but I would like to stat them before I make a decision.

Thank you.

Hi Rock,

I have the concept ready, I just didn't have time yet to write it down. I will do a Monk but I'll alter some class features to give it the Capoeirista flavour. They should be equivalent to the original ones.

However, on some cases I'd like to propose changes. I'll send you a list later, but in practical terms we may never even get there.

Regarding the dice-roller. Is there any reason to prefer this? I've been using http://www.pbegames.com/roller/ and I'm pretty happy with it.

I'm not familiar with invisiblecastle nor how you want to control our rolls.
I've signed in and rolled stats for a character, here is the link: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2516437/

If this is not how you do it, please enlighten me.

That was fine, you did it right. ^^ And the way I 'control' your rolls is thus: please post a link to your rolls at the end of your posts in the OOC text, just as you have done in this one to show your stat rolls. Of course I will be assuming honourable behaviour on the part of the players so they don't roll again and again until they get the result they like best, but I thought that pretty much went without saying.

Yes, that's what I like in PBEGames. You can roll and have the result sent immediately by mail to the DM. Like this, the DM only accepts a result sent by mail, and if he receives a second one he knows the player's cheating.

The picture in this page is a good guide to what my PC looks like. just disregard the brazilian flag on the trousers and imagine flowing hair.

Also, the 'belt' is a rope, not a karate-style belt (the image almost suggests that)

Are you using the monk class or the battle dancer (from Dragon Magazine- converted to D20 in the Dragon Compendium)?
Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.

That has still to be dealt with the DM :)
I am considering a straight monk, with replacement of some abilities. I've taken a look at that class and these are my views:

Pros:
- fighter bab progression
- attack based class features

Cons:
- worse saves than monk
- still insufficient AC bonus for a front-row fighter
- less skills
- no bonus feats as Monk did
- no evasion
- no flurry of blows (it gets better towards the end)

So, about the only good thing I see in the Battle Dancer is the BAB. I'm not sure this is enough to justify a chance.

On the other hand, I've read somewhere that the monk was poorly thought-out as a class because it had self-defeating features. Don't remind which.

For all this, I'll be proposing some changes to the original monk and consider that as a 3rd viable option.
