HP and the Half Blood Prince

Post by VAN »

I saw it yesterday and was really cool, but not as good as the other films, was a bit slow.

I saw it too. Not only was it slow, but it seemed very anti-climatic.

I hope the next movie will provide more background into The Half Blood Prince (Why is he half blooded? Why is he a prince?). The fact it was who it was didn't impress me.

Have you read the book? I plan to see the movie tomorrow, I re-read the book recently just so I would be up on the storyline.
I only wish I had retired sooner!

I think like Jim says, you should read the book first. In actuality, I saw the first two HP movies before I began reading them. As with any books made to movies, it be best if you read the book in my experience.

Proof is I actually read the Exorcist first, Salem's Lot first. Was worth it ;)

I haven't read any of the Harry Potter series yet and I don't plan to until after I've seen the 8th movie (apparently the seventh book is to be split into two movies).

With the travesty that was Jumper I find that I'd rather read the book after seeing the movie, rather than reading the book first and getting my hopes eith the movie to come only to be vehemently PO'd after seeing it.

I haven't read the books either, but I liked all the movies till now (just this one a little less :P). Just as with all the others, I'd like to discuss it with someone who has read the books too so he/she can tell me what is left out from the book or what they have changed. I know for instance that in 5th HP movie they have changed and have cut very important parts of the book, as their exams, dobby etc.

Maybe the next film will be more eco-friendly?

I actually enjoyed Half Blood Prince quite a bit, walking away with an Empire Strikes Back feeling swimming through my head. Of course having read the book I imagine my memories filled in the blank spots.
