Tsar Nikolai Ivanovich

Tsar Nikolai Ivanovich, also known as Nikolai the Terrible, is the ruler and darklord of a domain where the humans and fey are at war (or perhaps more properly, the tsar has launched a pogrom of persecution and extermination against the fairy folk and other creatures of magic.) Through this pogrom and his tyrannical rule, Ivanovich has transformed his realm into a bleak terrible place. Despite his persecution of magical creatures, Nikolai the Terrible is not above recruiting the vilest of their ranks to help in his war. Rumors contend he may be entirely inhuman himself. The source of his hatred is also shrouded in mystery, but speculation has it that Nikolai's hatred stems from a childhood encounter with Baba Yaga.

Nikolai's domain is patterned after Russia, and its fairy folk take after Slavic folklore. The tsar himself was inspired by Ivan the Terrible.
