Stefan Dyreth is the most successful rug manufacturer in Martira Bay, heading the Weavers' Guild and owning two exceptionally profitable rug mills. The secret of his success is that he does not pay or even feed his workers. He has murdered and reanimated as zombies 210 children entrusted to his care to apprentice in the weaving trade.[1]
Stefan Dyreth is the co-creator of zombie dust with Marcel Delacourte.[2]

Stefan is mentioned in the TSR 1993 Collector Cards (#146, which predates the Bleak House boxed set for several years) specifically as a outlander and former apprentice necromancer who sought his way home. He is depicted as a 4th level necromancer.[4]
