Sir William Canifax (NPC)

Sir William Canifax was a monster hunter and wizard from Mordent. He retired from both after he failed a Powers Check when casting animate dead during a hunt for a werewolf. To this day, he dwells on his estate in Mordent. Not only has he stopped monster hunting; he has all but given up the practice of magic altogether. Only under dire circumstances does he even prepare spells anymore, and even then never any necromancy spells. He seems to have some knowledge of a malevolent force in Ravenloft that corrupts magic.
