Satwa Dorji Kerima is the darklord of Dorjiloka. A satwa and being of great power, Dorji Kerima is a being of living lightning. Legions of rakshasa and debased devas are at his back and call. Yet the Terrible Lightning is cursed to never have what he desires most: to have a cult of loyal worshipers and followers.[1]

Born Dorji Byampa to merchant parents and immigrants to what was then known as Amritloka, Dorji was nonetheless chosen as one of the potential candidates to be recognized as the next Jampala of the Lotus Hat Order. His parents groomed him and gave him reassurances that he would be chosen. Yet despite some almost preternaturally precocious talents, Dorji Byampa was ultimately passed over. Dorji promised to himself he would become a satwa and become stronger than even the Jampala. After joining the monastery for several years, Dorji eventually stole a powerful magic scroll and performed a taboo ritual to transform himself into a being of force rather than flesh.[2]

Presenting himself to the Jampala and all those in his prayer hall, Dorji commanded all those before him kneel before him as he struck down the Jampala. But the people neither showed fear nor worship. Instead, they merely walked out on him, despite the angry reign of thunderbolts that took many of their lives. Even the Jampala who had been severely wounded, was revived by his faith and he left as well. In all his impotent rage, Dorji had been revealed as only a false deity, and his acts of traitor and mass murder made him a darklord. As impermanent as everything else is, Amritloka became Dorjiloka. Despite the land's imprisonment in the shroud of illusion, the people believe it is only a matter of time before Dorji Kerima is undone as well.[3]
