A planet resembles a star. Planets are as bright or brighter than stars but tend not to twinkle. Unlike stars, planets are celestial wanderers. The position of stars relative to one another is unchanging, the whole of them being welded into permanent, readily recognisable patterns known as constellations. Like the sun and the moon, the position of planets relative to stars and to one another is very slowly but constantly changing, some planets traversing the sky more quickly, and others less quickly, than the stars and each other. How many planets are there in the sky of the Core?

The sky over the Core has a single moon. Yet in Nova Vaasa the annual Night of Bright Truth occurs when all five moons are full. It has been suggested that "five moons" is a mistranslation from Vaasi into Mordentish with the correct rendering being "five celestial wanderers", which would be to say one moon and four planets.[1] The annual Night of Bright Truths would then occur when the moon is full and all four planets are above the horizon.[1] And thus the sky over the Core has four planets.
