Nikolai Pyotrovich is the accidental creator of the Gargoyle of the Great Cathedral. In life, he was a highly skilled sculpter and a faithful, if prideful, believer in Ezra. Such was his zealotry and perfectionism that he worked himself into a delusional state constructing the statuary of the Great Cathedral. He experienced hallucinations of his stained glass depiction of Ezra telling him to pour all he had into finishing the stone gargoyle statue he was working on. Nikolai's addled mind and religious devotion turned his final work into a dread golem and a gargoyle golem. When it moved for the first time, he died from fright.[1]
