Natalia Vhorishkova is a beautiful, intelligent, thoroughly evil woman, who is not only a skilled rogue and fighter, but is moreover a natural werewolf. She was a noted foe of Dr. Rudolph van Richten, whom hunted[1] but never caught her. In retaliation for his pursuit, she seduced George Weathermay and used the opportunity in an attempt to get close to van Richten and strike at him unawares. Gennifer Weathermay-Foxgrove, thereby earning George's eternal enmity.[2][3]

History

Natalia originally hales from Arkandale, born to the Vhorishkova family of natural lycanthropes. Rather reclusive and secretive, the Vhorishkovas dwelt on the edges of society, preying on normal humans covertly and avoiding the attention of civilization. Natalia was an exception, whom showed no aversion to wanton murder and devouring of children on bustling streets while the sun was still up. She wandered the lands of Ravenloft, thoroughly enjoying her power and wickedness. She eschewed venturing into the land of her birth and visiting her family, whom she obviously did not fit in with.[1]

Natalia's wanton slaughter eventually garnered the attention of Dr. van Richten. The good doctor nearly slew her in the ensuing conflict, but she escaped.[1] In Dr. van Richten's extended pursuit of Natalia, she once led him on a wild goose chase throughout Richemulot, ultimately to run into Balihnda the annis hag.[4] Natalia's contests with Dr. van Richten caused her to become much more careful in her activities than she used to be.[1][3]

To the end of avenging herself upon Dr. van Richten, Natalia courted George Weathermay, one of the doctor's good friends and companions, in 741 BC and persuaded George of her desire that they be married. Her plot to strike at Dr. van Richten unaware fell short of its mark but ended brutally nonetheless with the mauling of Gennifer Weathermay-Foxgrove and her (as yet unknown) infection with lycanthropy. The deception, together with paralysis in the moment of Natalia's unmasking, has left George with a grievous spiritual wound that will not heal, perhaps not even with her death, which he has sworn himself to effecting. In George's investigations of Natalia's identity, he traveled to Verbrek (in where was formerly Arkandale), where the trail led to the Vhorishkova clan. He slew all of Natalia's relatives, down to the last helpless elderly.[2][3]

Current Sketch

George's pursuit of Natalia has quite literally made her a hunted animal. Despite the constant fright and anxiety, this pursuit actually excited her, and she has come to the conclusion that rather than wanting her pursuer dead, she wants him as her voluntary, lycanthrope infected slave.[5] Natalia is a sadist thrilled by the spilling of blood and the experience of pain, on occasion even she enjoys experiencing such afflictions put upon her. A personally baffling desire drives her to novel experiences and new thrills.[1][5]

Natalia has the ability to enslave those she infects and may turn several desirable humans into servitor werewolves to make her escape from overwhelming foes if she must.[1][5] In 3rd Edition game terms, this ability is the Progeny Control lycanthrope salient ability.[6]
