Mirror of Vanity

The Mirror of Vanity is an evil artifact from some Prime Material Plane world. On that world, some priests sealed it away in a tomb. When Dorvinia formed as a Ravenloft domain, the Dark Powers brought the tomb along with the Mirror to that domain. The Mirror was later found by Justin Ravencrest and Jasmine Ravencrest of the Ravencrest house of nobility. Justin's character flaws enabled him to fall under the Mirror's sway. Under its influence, he has been systematically slaughtering the other members of his family. (Once no more are left, the Mirror can claim Justin's soul. His wife, Lizza Ravencrest, fled to Falkovnia and eventually gave birth to his child. A local priest prevented the death of the baby and drove off Justin, but not before Lizza's death.
