Marynia Teslenko

Marynia Teslenko is is highly unusual for a cleric of the Lawgiver: she is also a Half-Vistani, thus almost making her a heretic by her very nature as a child of parents who crossed ethnic and social lines. Abandoned by her Vaasi mother and left to the Telenko family, a family of horse ranchers, Marynia grew up in a particularly religiously faithful home environment. Eventually, her adopted parents sent her off to join the clergy of the Lawgiver, believing this was his will.

Ivani Teslenko, the biological child of Marynia's adoptive parents, grew quite jealous of her adopted sister's ability to join the people of the cloth. However, she eventually became romantically evolved with Sir Tristen Hiregaard. The breaching of class lines sent to Marynia a premonition of foreboding at going against the good will of the Lawgiver. She warned Ivani, but Ivani cast aside her words. Soon after, Ivani was murdered.

Teslenko went to Castle Faerhaven to confront Tristen, she suffered form a case of Moon Madness which caused her to be locked away in the dungeons of the castle. She laid a curse upon Tristen before being accosted and tortured by Malken. Eventually, she was discovered by Tristen (who seemingly had just arrived home) and spirited away to the nearest temple of the Lawgiver for healing. The priests did heal her, but left her foot maimed to humble her for trying to make accusations against her social and economic betters.

For his help and those who seemingly witnessed him arrive home, Marynia no longer believes Sir Tristen is guilty. Since her encounter with Malken, she has operated as a vigilante against the chaos and savagery of the streets of Kantora. She has also been working hard to to master her curse abilities. She has learned how to use the Tarokka Deck from an unnamed Vistani, and she carries a Lawgiver Tarokka Deck that she has modified to adopt the iconography of the Lawgiver faith. Not that she is in exactly good conditions with the more orthodox members of her faith, because she has separated herself from them.
