Kept caged at all hours, the "pet" of Madame Girani was some kind of unearthly creature she received as payment from a wizard for her services. Girani learned spells and arcane lore from the strange monster's sleepy whispers.[1] In 720 BC[2]. Soth broke upon the cage and set loose the beast upon her. Soth set the vardo ablaze and left the two inside.[3]
