Luca Barbu

Luca Barbu was the physically strong but mentally impaired son of Costel Barbu. they lived together in Orașnou. Luca Barbu also worked for Burgomaster Ivan Randovich as a shepherd taking care of the sheep collected for taxes. As such, Luca came into frequent contact with Eugen Adi, whom later tried to frame him for the disappearance of many sheep in the village.

History

As previously mentioned, Luca cared for the sheep collected from the villages of Orașnou. Luca became especially attached to one of the sheep named Brownie. He would later come to insist that Brownie had disappeared.

Costel was killed and eaten by Eugen Adi for failing to remove his unnatural hunger, although Costel's fate was ultimately unknown by the populace. Sometime close to the murder, the Barbu family received an invitation to the manor of Marilena Fidatov for protection along with a magical ring imbued with a remove curse spell to protect Costel from Eugen. Sadly, the items arriived too late. They were left in the hands of Luca, whom never opened the letter because he was unable to read. Luca continued his shepherding duties and living in the same house after his father perished.

Eugen's depredations would eventually extend to Luca, for Eugen attempted to frame Luca for the theft of many sheep during a winter period of near starvation. A mob eventually formed and accosted Luca. Some adventurers may or may not have saved him from the mob. If he died, he later rose again as a revenant to wreak revenge on his transgressors.
